Los Carnalitos Restaurant: Taste Authentic Mexican Flavors in Hayward

Sweet lord, I need to stop coming here so often. Everything I’ve had is absolutely delicious. Absolutely the closest thing I’ve had outside of Mexico City to food from CDMX. The Tlacoyos, Huaraches, Quesadillas have been phenomenal.

Los Carnalitos in Hayward does not miss. We ordered carne asada tacos, adobo tacos, pollo asado tacos, a quesadilla, and a michelada, and everything was on point. The meats were flavorful, tender, and cooked just right. The carne asada had that perfect char, the adobo was rich and packed with flavor, and the pollo asado was juicy and well seasoned. Fresh cilantro, onions, and that green salsa tied everything together. The quesadilla was loaded and satisfying, not skimpy at all. And the michelada? Ice cold with a solid tajín rim and great balance. Exactly what you want with tacos. Service was friendly and quick, and the portions were generous. If you're in Hayward and want legit Mexican food that hits every time, this is the spot. Definitely coming back.

I know I was super hungry, but the Gordita was the best thing I’ve eaten in a long time. Amazing. Perfectly crisp masa, flavorful ingredients. I was asked if I wanted “just one”, and I’m glad I said yes because it was perfect. I got the salsa on the side. (Green salsa served on the table) Horchata was 5 stars too. Really amazing spot, busy for a reason. No photo bc I was starving and it was too good to put down. So yum. Other people I was with got Pambazos which also looked amazing.

Incredible tacos and Sopes. Real authentic tasting mexican food. My favorite in the entire Bay Area.

I’ve gone in 3 occasions and I never been disappointed. From real fruit aguas frescas to authentic mexican food its all really good. The gordita was amazing, it was cooked to perfection, the masa was not soggy like most places. The salsa is spicy but it has a really good flavor. My mom had the huarache azteca and it was Really good too. And my daughter always can’t go wrong with her tacos de al pastor which she really likes here. This place does not cut corners when it comes to food and it really shows. I love coming here for good quality food because they use real ingredientes to cook with.

This Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant and Food Truck in Redwood City is a gem! I ordered the Steak Plate, Tacos Al Pastor, a Gordita, and Horchata. Everything was really good. The horchata was too sweet IMHO. The steak plate was good, the tacos were tasty, but the best thing was the GORDITA! That was so good! Crispy, warm, a little cheesy and just plain yummy! I will definitely return and would recommend!
